Born on the island of Mauritius, Sew By M is rooted in a family history of sewing passed down through generations of women.

Raised among fabrics, embroidery, patterns and the gestures of traditional dressmaking, M developed a deeply personal connection to textile craftsmanship and the memory held within cloth.

Each piece is designed and handmade through a dialogue between past and present — combining antique lace, vintage embroidery and heirloom textiles with contemporary fabrics and modern silhouettes.

Alongside heirloom textiles preserved within her family, M has carefully collected fabrics during her travels, sourcing unique pieces from flea markets and donations from friends.

The collections explore volume, texture and movement while preserving the soul of historical materials. Old embroideries, fragments of lace and forgotten textiles are carefully reworked into garments that feel both timeless and contemporary.

Inspired by heritage and couture techniques, Sew By M embraces a slower and more emotional approach to fashion, where every garment carries a story stitched by hand and machines.

Produced in small editions or as one-of-a-kind pieces, the work reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, textile preservation and artisanal savoir-faire.
